The extension of the tram line 26 is composed of three sections with a total length of 4.6 km. The route leads from Kagraner Platz up to the urban railway station Hausfeldstrasse in level position, excepting section 2, which is built in elevated position with a maximum allowable speed of 70 km/h.

In the course of the analyses extensive surveys were carried out (basic measurements – airborne noise; structural and dynamic building surveys – vibrations and secondary airborne sound), noise resulting from tramway operation and construction work was predicted and corresponding measures for the protection of the neighbours were selected and verified if required.
