The Kao Ping Hsi Bridge represents the key structure in the Southern Second Freeway built by the Taiwan Area National Expressway Engineering Bureau (TANEEB). It has a record breaking 330 meter cantilever in an unbalanced arrangement. The bridge opened at the beginning of 2000.

Design works were carried out by the Vienna Head Office, Construction Design and Site Supervision were carried out by the Taiwan Branch Office. The project features a number of major innovations in cable stayed bridges.
