A cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 737 m is built over the Golden Horn Bay of Vladivostok. The pylons will have a height of 226m after final completion. Currently segments of the steel box girder with a weight of 230 tons each are lifted in from both sides (cantilever method).
Before the installation of the first steel segment a load test of the lifting system was carried out with additional ballast. The working weight was thus increased by 30%. During this process deformation measurements by means of strain gauges were performed by VCE both at the tension plates and at the bridge deck (transition section from the prestressed concrete deck to the steel deck).
The tests spanned a total of four days.
