The almost 2000 year old seaport of Kotor, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is situated at the coast of Montenegro. The historic fortress on the hill of Kotor is a tourist attraction with very difficult accessibility. Due to UNESCO requirements it is only possible to provide access to the fortress by a structure in the mountain. Therefore an 250 m long pedestrian tunnel is to be built from the town. At its end in the interior of the hill a vertical shaft will be connected to the tunnel. In this 250 m high shaft two passenger lifts will transport the visitors to the fortress.
