Railway link between Beijing and Shanghai. The rail link, measuring more than 1,300 kilometres in length, is estimated to € 9.2 billion in total investment. As part of the high speed railway line a new bridge crossing the Yangtze River near Nanjing is necessary. The bridge shall carry both high and middle speed passenger trains as well as freight trains. The arch truss bridge is 1,248 m long with two main spans of 336 m. The arches comprise three truss planes above deck level. The railway tracks are supported by a deck spanning between the trusses.
