In the course of the full extension of the A2 southern motorway in the section Twimberg-Wolfsberg the second structure of the Lavant bridge was constructed. The structure is a 6-span prestressed concrete structure (box girder) and was built in the classic free cantilever method. The very high piers (up to 140 m) combined with an earthquake risk represent a special characteristic of the structure.
