PROJECT of the MONTH JUNE 2025 | Check of the Stability and Safety of the Cable-Stayed Bridge B0208
The cable-stayed bridge B0208 spans the Danube Canal as part of the lane in direction of Vienna of the A4 eastern motorway. The bridge has 4 pylons with 16 stay cables each, which are designed as fully locked ropes.
Since its restoration in 2009, which was monitored by measurements by VCE, ASFINAG has ordered periodic measurements at all 64 stay cables every 3 years. The current measurement was carried out by our team of the CC Structural Health Monitoring by means of BRIMOS® in March 2025. 4 sensors were used at the same time for a quick performance of the measurements. The bridge has successfully passed the check.
Thanks to the measurement and assessment method BRIMOS® the stay cable forces and the vibration behaviour of stay cables can be quickly and reliably determined and possible changes over time can be detected. BRIMOS® was developed and introduced in 1994. Since then, more than 10,000 measurements at stay cables, hangers and anchoring cables have been performed worldwide.
