PROJECT of the MONTH 2025 | BRIMOS® Follow-up Inspection for 4 Bridges in the Province of Salzburg. BRIMOS® has verified the structural safety of Schmiedgraben Bridge, Urslau Bridge, Tauracher Bridge and Lammer Bridge for 25 years
On behalf of the Salzburg regional building management department 6/07 Bridge Construction our team of experts performed the second follow-up inspection of four bridge structures – Schmiedgraben, Urslau, Tauracher and Lammer Bridges. Objective was a detailed assessment of the structural safety and functionality by means of the innovative diagnostic method BRIMOS®.
The non-destructive, dynamic periodic measurements were performed without any interruptions of traffic operation and without any restrictions to the users. By comparison with the measurement data of the basic and follow-up measurements from the years 2000, 2005/2006 and partly 2008 the load-bearing behaviour could be precisely analysed for a period of time of 25 years. This trend analysis supplies well-founded bases for the planning of specific maintenance measures and the extension of the service life of the structures. Structural modifications at three bridges were clearly visible in the measured eigenfrequencies, so that structural and mechanical effectiveness of the structural measures could be proven.
