The refurbishment comprises a general re-alignment of the theatre’s design including a canopy, a symmetric opening and an extended foyer.
In the auditorium the curved shapes resemble the existing arches. The improved lines of sight in the auditorium and the additional foyer with a buffet in the right stalls increase the comfort for the audience.
The renting of additional spaces allows an extension and re-organization of the cloakrooms as well as of the working and storage rooms. The enlarged stage, the orchestra pit, the completely modernized stage machinery and the underground lift for the transport of stage equipment improve the artistic prospects. The completely renewed technical building services as well as electric and safety engineering are state of the art.
