Cooperation with Protector KKS in Germany

The companies Protector KKS and VCE have formed a long-term, strategic partnership for non-destructive inspection and assessment in civil engineering based on the Structural Health Monitoring Method BRIMOS®.

The BRIMOS® technology is being used for the determination of the structural integrity and maintenance condition both of constructional elements (cable stays, external prestressing, bracings) and of civil engineering structures (bridges, parking decks, etc).

VCE Vienna Consulting Engineers ZT GmbH is a leading, internationally active consulting engineering office with its headquarters in Vienna/Austria, which offers innovative solutions in the fields of civil engineering, environmental engineering and sustainability. VCE has developed the monitoring based assessment method BRIMOS® and has applied and constantly refined this in-depth investigations at various civil engineering structures for more than 35 years worldwide.

Protector KKS GmbH with its headquarters in Ludwigsburg has been a leading expert for cathodic corrosion protection as well as specialized corrosion and structural monitoring of reinforced concrete structures in Germany for 15 years. It is part of Protector AS in Norway, which has already been active worldwide for more than 35 years.

In the future Protector KKS will offer the Structural Health Monitoring Method BRIMOS® all over Germany. The respective cooperation agreement was signed by the management of both companies in February 2026.

By combining Protector's internationally proven Camur electronics with VCE's BRIMOS® testing method, we are taking structural health monitoring to a new level: we are intelligently linking electrochemical corrosion monitoring with parameters from structural mechanics like vibration behaviour, load bearing capacity and structural resistance. Owners and operators receive a seamless, data-driven understanding of the actual condition of the structure. This enables maximum safety combined with a highly efficient and economical maintenance strategy.
